IRON MAIDEN Guitarist: 'Every Band Is Only As Strong As Their Latest Album'

October 5, 2006

Jed Gottlieb of BostonHerald.com recently conducted an interview with IRON MAIDEN guitarist Dave Murray. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:

On MAIDEN's continued commercial success:

"Every band is only as strong as their latest album. We've never done anything half-assed, and that's why we're still making records and touring. It's on the strength of the material and the live show. We're at the point now where we can put on the live show we always wanted with a big PA and lights and effects and Eddies."

On the band's three-guitar lineup:

"It allows the band to be more heavy in places and more melodic in other places. It's working out really good. There're no frustrations, we complement each other like the players on a football team. We're here to make music and not compete with each other."
